Waiting on Wii

I've officially decided to wait on the Wii. With articles like this one popping up around the internet, I think it is worth my while to hold out until at least sometime next year. I got the DS right after it came out and then was upset when they put out the DS Lite not long afterward. Of course I switched to the sleeker and brighter Lite version, but I don't want to have to do that with the Wii.

A Wii Adventure

Aryll finds an interesting object while fishing in the ocean... Unfortunately, this means bad things for Link.

"The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker," all characters, music and the Wii are property of Nintendo.

Wii Accessories on Sale

Can you believe that Target is already selling Wii Accessories? This is incredibly exciting. This plus the pre-orders last week are making it seem ever more obvious that the Wii will be out soon and we'll be able to start experiencing the revolution that Nintendo has been showing us for what seems like ages! See the link for more details.

Wii Pre-Orders - #2

Wow! I've been seeing stories all over the net today (like this one) about the incredible number of people interested in pre-ordering the Wii. This is just outstanding for Nintendo. I hope the system (and the games developed for it) live up to the hype. If they do, this is going to bring Nintendo back into the fight for lead console. Of course, Nintendo is sort of in a league of their own now and PS3 and XBOX360 are going to be battling each other, but I think this is an awesome accomplishment for Nintendo! I wonder if I'll be able to get my hands on a Wii before Christmas ....

Wii Pre-Orders

So Gamestop finally announced the Pre-orders for the Wii. I wonder if they will already be completely sold out by the end of today. I'm still undecided about whether to buy the Wii right when it comes out (if I can even get my hands on one!) or if I should wait until some later time when maybe the price drops and maybe they've fixed any problems that have come up. I was going to get one because I had some birthday money from my parents, but then I got kidney stones and had to go to the freaking emergency room which is going to cost me way more than the Wii ... so I'm thinking I'll probably have to wait even though I really want to play!!!

Zelda Website

Oh my god, there is a Zelda.com website??? I've died and gone to heaven! I absolutely love Zelda games and I cannot wait until Twilight Princess. Although, I'm not sure what to do because I was thinking about waiting to get the Wii until sometime next year, but I'd rather play the Wii version than the gamecube version. I guess I'll have to wait for the new Zelda until I can get the Wii.

Nintendo Wii Zone Site

I found this cool site today that announces all types of stuff about the Nintendo Wii.

Nintendo Wii Zone

I've got to tell you that there are two games I am most looking forward to on the Wii:
Zelda: Twilight Princess
and
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

So Zelda is the classic, quintessential Nintendo Game (along with Mario Bros) and I absolutely love it. Every Zelda game I've played has been a blast. I absolutely loved the Gamecube, cell-shaded version, and I can't wait to see the graphics and controls of the Wii version. I'm also looking forward to the DS game (Phantom Hourglass) that comes out next March.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the Wii version of the incredibly popular Gamecube game Super Smash Bros. Melee. If you've never played this game, you don't know what you're missing. It's like a typical Street Fighter-like fighting game but with Nintendo characters on Speed! The number of items that fall can be totally insane at times and it is just non-stop fun and excitement. The sheer number of unlockables in the game is phenomenal and can keep you going for ages. The graphics on the new version look outstanding and I bet there are gonna be some awesome features with the new controller! Check out this page: New Images of Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Wireless

One of my favorite features of the DS is the Wi-Fi capabilities. Not only can you play with other DS users in the room with you (either using two game cards or sometimes just one), there is also the great Nintendo Wi-Fi connection for games like Animal Crossing, MarioKart, and others. So far I've only played Animal Crossing using Wi-Fi but I absolutely love it! I'm not sure why, but it is extremely satisfying to be playing DS with someone halfway across the country! Of course, this sometimes makes me feel old because most of the other players are in their early teens while I am 25, but I did meet up with some players as old as 40.

It is also incredible to be able to use just one game cartridge but play with multiple people in the same room. I hope they continue to expand on this concept, and I look forward to the Wi-Fi features of the Wii. This is a great way to deliver additional content to users who may otherwise become bored with a game. I can't wait for the Wii!!
